Doyle Cooper Jazz Band
Doyle Cooper began playing trumpet at the age of 10. Raised in a musical family, it was always a matter of what he would play, not if he would play. He was immersed in Traditional Jazz since his Grandfather and Mother both performed for years.
He started his first band the Red Hot Brass Band at the age of 13 and continues to play with them often. He is a NOCCA graduate and studied Music Education at Loyola University. After years of playing with multiple bands, Doyle gathered a great group of musicians to come together to perform often as his band the Doyle Cooper Jazz Band.
He continues to be dedicated to Traditional Jazz that was born here in our hometown, New Orleans. He plays sousaphone for SOUL Brass band and has traveled both the US and Europe with this group. He has been fortunate to learn so much from the great musical masters of this city.
Doyle finds it an honor to share this great music with the audience and students alike. After numerous performances at the New Orleans Jazz Festival and other efestivals in the area, Jazz Fest 2017 is the first time this band has performed in Economy Hall. The Doyle Cooper Jazz Band plays weekly, Friday nights at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel in the historic French Quarter.
Buffa’s is committed to finding a way to pay our musicians fairly while maintaining socially distanced tables as required by the City of New Orleans. In order to do that we are selling full tables (either 2, 4, or 6 seats). The charge for this event is $10 per person, and purchase of a full table is required. This insures musicians fair pay and puts no pressure on our guests to have to relinquish their table due to upcoming reservations.
