Description
This is a complete longshot, but I thought at least I’d try: Nearly two years ago, in July of 2019, my family had our belongings removed from a rented apartment in Ballston Spa after we were no longer able to afford it. I was a teenager at the time, and lost most of my things, including all of my childhood photos, belongings, etc. However, the item I lost that meant the most to me, and that I continue to think about until this day, was a dark navy blue and red backpack I received for a scholarship I won in high school from the Veterans of Foreign Wars. It had the words “VFW Voice of Democracy 2015” stitched on it, and was filled with pins that were given to me from each of the other winners, 54 in total, one from each state, D.C., Puerto Rico, Europe, and the Pacific Areas. Additionally, it had a folder filled with well-wishes from my friends from a summer internship, and a book filled with speeches, among some other memorabilia. Everything I had that I thought was special I put in that backpack; even though none of it was valuable, it meant the world to me. If it made its way to you, I won’t ask any questions about how you got it, and would be happy to offer a reward if you think it’s fair. I’m going to college out of state in the fall, and feel like this is my last chance to have it back. I cannot tell you how thrilled I would be:) God bless, E.
