Description

The fake posts are back on Craigslist more than they have been in a while. A lot of them are for pets and some are for people saying they want to connect. They claim to be a lonely mom or a young lady even an older widow but once in awhile it's a guy. Two things to look out for if they want you to send your number don't do it, or if they use a (g) account or any other email account don't do it. Those are fake and they are looking to get your information. If they're saying they have a pet for sale and it's an out of state number there's a pretty good chance it's a scam and they're going to want you to send them money. I've seen a lot of pet post and in a lot of the fake ones the pictures are distorted, that's probably because they stole the pictures off of the internet. Just be aware and don't get too excited when you read a post. It may seem like they have exactly what you're looking for but you need to decipher it first and see if it makes any sense or if there are any red flags. It seems like the latest red flag for post offering pets is for you to send a phone number. If you really need to reply do it through Craigslist. If the person is real they should have no reason not to reply to your inquiry through Craigslist email. Be aware there's still a chance that they can get your information especially your email and your email account may get full of junk but it's much better than giving them your phone number. Good luck and be safe on here.
