Description
I am looking for a new home for my dog, especially one that can appreciate, and provide space for, her high energy capacity. She would be great for somewhere that she can be useful at, she loves completing tasks and being active. Her name is Lyla, she is very very fast (has caught two hares in a chase!), Very alert and attentive to what is going on around her, very quick to react, extremely smart (has learned all hand signal commands easily as well as left and right by different click sounds as well as going in the direction that I point to!), surprisingly strong considering she is not a large dog, and I've never seen her become tired to a point she wanted to stop running. She does not really prefer to swim, but is not afraid of the water. She loves fetch, and will bring the ball back and put it in my hand, so maybe she would make a good hunter's retrieving dog with some training. She has been a good pet, and I am sad that she can not come with me. I feel like she would be most happiest, and appreciated, if she had a job to do that required a really high energy, fast dog. I think she would really enjoy it, as it seems like she is happy to just complete any kind of task for me. She is not mean to people or children, and has always been quite social. She gets along with other animals, once she gets used to them. She can be a little alpha female, which some more timid or some older dogs didn't like, and has a tendency to play a little rough, which has been an issue with some dogs/people, but most they have been fine running around off leash together and wrestling. She is a great dog, and I care for her allot, so I would really like to find somewhere she will not be misused. She is comfortable without fancy things, but she definitely needs social interaction, and something to keep her active. She knows these commands by word and hand signal: Sit, Wait, Stay, Down, Up, All the Way (means laying belly-up), Come here (also knows as a ch-ch sound as well), Back (to make her back up from you or if trying to open a gate and she's in the way) By word: What is that? (To make her pay attention to whatever is you point at, like a bird, a ball, etc.), Leave it (stop paying attention to something), Drop it, Keep it Tight (means to stay close), Vamos (or come on), Load up (get in vehicle), Dog out, You ready (means we're about to do something and she gets up expecting for what it is we're going to do) She responds by a whistle, or hand claps, or a shout of her name "LYYY-LA" and knows to turn left or right by two different clicking sounds, although if you can whistle well I don't think she would have a hard time at all changing to two different whistle commands for left and right. However, she is still young enough to learn new things/ change commands I think. You may call or text me, Brandon, and I will try to respond timely to emails as well. Thank you!
