Turner Public works is hiring seasonal part-time employees. The purpose of these positions is to provide spring and summer time help for the public works department in City parks. The hired candidate must have a flexible availability. These positions will be required to work weekends and evenings. Pay is $13.00-15.00/hour General requirements are: Ability to safely operate a department issued vehicle (acceptable driving record) Ability to safely operate various equipment (riding mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, etc.) Ability to safely use various hand tools (rakes, shovels, hand clippers, etc.) General knowledge of lawn care/park maintenance Ability to follow directions (written and verbal) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Good customer service skills Ability to walk/work on uneven and rough terrain, be able to kneel and bend. Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted Work in adverse weather conditions (high heat, low or high humidity, rain, and wind) Preference will be given to individuals with certificates or licenses related to lawn care These are seasonal positions with no opportunities to become a permanent employee. These positions are limited of duration, typically 4 months in length.
