The cops waited for 6 hours for Ben to 'cool down'.
They could have taken out Ben within 9 minutes and 29 seconds. And it would have been for a felony.
A 43-year-old man who was arrested after a six-hour standoff with SWAT officers in Taylorsville told police he shot at them because "he was not having it," according to an affidavit for his arrest.
Ben. M. Williams, Jr. was arrested shortly after 10 p.m. at a home on Baringwood Circle. Police were called there just after 4 p.m. on Saturday for a report of domestic violence. Williams' parents told police they'd been assaulted by their son. Both had left the home when the first officers arrived and police observed they both had visible injuries, including black eyes.
Williams "refused contact with police and barricaded himself in the home with multiple firearms," according to the arrested affidavit.
