The NeuroTaP Lab at University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking participants with and without posttraumatic stress disorder or anxiety for a research studies related to learning, neurocircuitry, and mental health following traumatic event exposure.
Study Details:
> Participants will complete 1 phone interview to determine eligibility for the lab’s studies
> Interview questions: presence of trauma and mental health symptoms, medical conditions, exercise activity, metal in your body
> The lab's studies either involve MRI scans or physical exercise on a stationary bike
> The lab’s studies involve 3-4 visits on different days, lasting between 1-4 hours per session (6-12 hours in total)
Research activities will take place at the UW-Madison Department of Psychiatry and/or the Waisman Center
Research Volunteer Eligibility:
> Written and verbal fluency in English
> Adults ages 21-50, who either:
1) Have experienced interpersonal violence OR anxiety
2) Have not experienced interpersonal violence NOR anxiety
> You may not participate if you have history of major medical disorders, seizures, brain damage, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay, or if you are pregnant.
Study visits will either take place at the Wisconsin Psychiatric Institute and Clinics (WISPIC) or the Waisman Center.
