Organizers Sought: Cooperatively owned and unionized political firm hiring to staff multiple progressive campaigns and political projects. Position: Organizer, Austin, TX Desired Start Date: On or before March 22, 2021 Type: Part-Time or Full-Time Employee Collective Campaigns seeks multiple Organizers for several progressive-left political endeavors, including but not limited to Collective Campaigns is a unionized worker-owned cooperative that works for social, economic, and racial justice & maintains the highest standard in progressive, democratic workplace environment. Despite the firm having multiple concurrent campaigns and projects, we strive to give organizers clear expectations about their work and workers always have discretion on what they work on, and what types of work they do. Types of Work at Collective Campaigns ------------------------------------------------------------- Field Organizing - will primarily be focused on block walking and Direct Voter Contact. Field Organizing can be done in a low contact way (dropping literature at the door) but persuasion canvassing which requires contact and carries risk will be compensated with hazard pay. Essential Duties: Direct Voter Contact, including but not limited to door-to-door literature distribution, phonebanking, and texting. Identify, recruit, train, & develop volunteers Organize volunteering & other events Light office work & misc. duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications: -Experience working or volunteering on electoral, union, or community organizing campaigns -Excellent interpersonal skills -Strong willingness to learn and adapt -Timeliness in attendance to work & completion of tasks on deadline -Reliable vehicle with current registration and insurance -Public speaking skills and/or experience leading trainings for medium-sized or large groups -Reliable vehicle with current registration and insurance ------------------------------------------------------------- Scientifically Rigorous Polling - Work from home, virtual call center work conducting opinion surveys. We are looking for people who can keep a survey target on the phone through the entire conversation by being engaging and personable while remaining politically neutral. Pollsters must be able to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Workers will have frequent accountability review and feedback. Essential Duties -Politically Neutral Survey calling -Diligence in completing each survey -Rigorous data keeping and operational feedback -Light office work & misc. duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications: -Experience working or volunteering on electoral, union, or community organizing campaigns -A positive, professional attitude while on the phone -Commitment to continuous improvement -Diligence and Focus -A working personal mobile phone -Good communicator and listener -Positive, dependable, able to follow written & verbal instructions. ------------------------------------------------------------- Compensation & Hours: Organizers and pollsters will be paid an hourly wage of $16.50 Hazard pay for performance of qualifying duties will be $21.50 per hour Work mileage will be compensated at the IRS rate mileage incurred using a personal vehicle for work related duties 40 hours per week, including three-four week days and both weekend days per week; less-time arrangements such as weekends-only may be available at employer's discretion.
