Apply at: Job Responsibilities: Mows, edges and aerates the lawns and keeps grass well manicured. Weeds the garden and prunes trees and shrubs. Trims plants and maintains high aesthetic appeal of the outdoor spaces. Assists in snow removal and sanding operations of sidewalks and parking lots. Maintains and clears debris from sidewalks, roofs, entrances and parking lots. Maintains the driveways clean of leaves and undertakes pressure cleaning to keep them clean. Maintains the pleasing aesthetic aspects of ponds and fountains. Maintains and cleans outdoor seating areas and furniture. Sprays and fertilizes according to proper application of herbicides. Maintains irrigating/programming controllers, replacing heads, valves and underground pipe. Makes daily inspection of grounds. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Safety: Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them. Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws. Must complete all required safety trainings as scheduled Practice Defensive Driving at all times (if required) Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Qualified Applicator (chemical) License (PAPA) or Pest Control Applicators (PCA) License: Preferred Certificate in horticulture or landscape field: Preferred Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification: Preferred Valid Driver's License (DL): Required Physical Work Requirements and Work Conditions: Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license Must pass background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening process (if mobile) The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms and possible extreme weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock (high voltage); and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
