Looking for work/job

Description

It’s funny how there are tons of jobs to apply for here on CL, but a lot are either work for yourself (uber, door dash, etc.), need experience, or starting pay is so low, it barely covers your has to get to and from regardless of how close it may be. That being said, here are my qualifications. I know a lot in multiple fields, not all documented under “work experience”, because it was self taught from extensive research, watching endless how to videos, and personal experiences. Minor carpentry - Could use some more experience. I rebuilt a porch into a screened in porch including replacing all deck boards, installing ceiling below the roof, the door frame, screen door, stairs and railing, with paint. I also replaced a roll-up door on a trailer being used as storage with a normal house door. Building the door frame, installing the door, and putting up walks next to it to keep out weather. I have pictures as proof. Minor electric and plumbing - Could use some more experience. Between being a wireman in the US military (Yes, I am a Veteran), I know how to run wiring, how to install new electrical outlets, how to replace/install gas and electric water heaters including replacing the plumbing to it. I know how to do pex plumbing as well. I’ve run water lines for refrigerators, replace or install new faucets in both kitchen and bathroom, and replacing toilets. I know a little about landscaping, including mowing, including both push and ride mowers, weed wacking, leaf blowing, raking, installing smaller rock walls and spreading mulch and crushed stone, sealcoating driveways, painting, and pressure washing. Driving - Multiple years experience. Great driving record. CDL-A with a few endorsments. That is the one thing i prefer not to do anymore. I got out of a truck for health reasons. I was 350lbs and only 6 months out of a truck, I’m down to 285lbs and counting. I’m not discounting driving jobs, just ones that require dot med card. When I was bigger (350lbs), I was told I had to get a mandatory, paid out of my own pocket, expensive sleep apnea test. I can’t afford one, nor feel I should have to pay for one for a test that won’t change anything about me as a driver, then to make it mandatory. Even after that, I still have to pay for a renewal dot med card yearly instead of every two years. That’s more expensive than renewing your license every 5 years. I have a lot of my own tools, including a couple ladders. I also know my way around computers and technology. I have a lot to offer. If you yourself are looking to hire or know anyone hiring, please let me know. I’m looking to be hired on my own experiences and merit over having professional training or college degrees. I don’t expect to be offered $25 per hour like I made as a truck driver, but I know I’m worth more than $10-$15 per hour.
