Looking for a dependable, motivated grounds worker for an entry-level position. The individual should possess a valid driver's license and be able to lift at least 75 lbs. The individual must be willing and able work in an outdoor environment, in a wide range of weather conditions. This is an entry-level position, but applicants with gardening and outdoor experience are preferred. Applicants with backhoe and dump truck experience would be considered. If the applicant does not possess the experience, on-site training may be supplied with managerial approval. The duties of the groundskeeping position include but are not limited to the following tasks: - Setting up and taking down all equipment necessary for funeral to take place - Digging, filling and caring for graves - Resetting disturbed and displaced memorials and markers - Digging and pouring foundations for memorials and markers - Cutting and trimming grass and shrubs - Blowing, raking, and removing leaves - Snow removal, salting sidewalks, roadways, and other Cemetery areas - Cleaning of grounds - Assisting funeral director as needed at time of burial - Light service and repair of equipment - Garbage removal - Assist Managers with enforcement of Cemetery decorum policy - Picking up sticks and branches as necessary - Painting - Light construction or demolition as requested - Leading in funerals; directing traffic and parking in the cemetery We maintain a drug and alcohol free workplace, and prospective employees are subject to substance abuse testing and background screenings.
