In this class, you'll learn to make your very own wooden tortilla press AND the tortillas to go with it! TORTILLA MAKERS! 6pm-8:30pm, Tuesdays May 18th - June 15th $200, supplies/ingredients included Create your tortilla press from start to finish using the table saw, jointer, chop saw, plainer, router, hand plain, and cabinet scraper. Students will walk away with a working knowledge of most equipment in Wave Pool's woodshop, a beautiful, hand crafted tortilla press to keep or gift, and a jar of food-safe board butter to keep your new appliance looking fresh for years to come. The last class will be a cooking class with chef Lety Sanchez at the Welcome Project, making a delicious dish using tortillas freshly made from your very own homemade press.
