First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon seeks applicants for a church custodian. The custodian will be responsible for cleaning the church facility, performing minor maintenance, and reporting maintenance needs to pastor. The position will initially be set for 10 hours per week due to limited use of church facilities during the covid 19 pandemic. As building and facility uses return to normal the position has potential to be extended to 20 hours per week. In addition to standard cleaning and straightening, current duties include meeting covid 19 requirements such as sanitizing and wiping down high touch surfaces. Candidates should possess experience in custodial work and ability to perform custodial duties and cleaning. Physical requirements include use of rotary floor waxer, reaching light bulbs and fixtures overhead, and light lifting.
