The course certifies firearms trainers to deliver the NRA's Basic CCW course curriculum (teaching students how to draw from a holster). The CCW Instructor Certification Course teaches firearms trainers how to teach the NRA Basic CCW lesson plans and how to manage a firing line for NRA Basic CCW live-fire drills. Instructor candidates who successfully complete this course will then be certified to teach NRA Basic CCW courses.The CCW Course was designed to teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal protection. It's a new curriculum that builds on the fundamentals taught in the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course and puts those skills into a defensive context for private citizens who carry concealed handguns. Instructor candidates will need: a quality defensive handgun a properly-fitted holster and belt at least two spare magazines or speed-loaders (and a method of carrying them on your person) roughly 150 rounds of ammunition a cover garment for concealment anything you need to keep yourself comfortable in the elements (we'll spend several hours on an outdoor range) Mandatory Prerequisites: Successful completion of the NRA CCW Course (we're offering that course this same weekend) Current NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Certification (you must already be NRA-certified as a pistol instructor in order to be eligible for CCW instructor certification) Feel free to contact us for questions about equipment requirements, and please let us know in advance if you will need to purchase ammo from us so we can make sure we're sufficiently stocked. Also, if you need to renew your Basic Instructor Training (BIT) credentials, please contact us ASAP, as we might be able to add BIT for those who need it. Note on Ammo:We are mindful of the current ammunition shortage. We will do our very best to be conservative with ammo consumption throughout this course. The round count in the equipment list is a generous estimate, and we hope to avoid having to use all of it.
