Description

Collierville Community Justice invites you to attend a FREE community dinner during Ramadan at Suggs Park in Collierville. Join local Muslims, Imam Anwar Arafat of Memphis Islamic Center (MIC), and friends from Collierville as we share Ramadan traditions with the Collierville Community. Following a talk about fasting and Ramadan, attendees will have an opportunity to break fast and observe a Muslim prayer. FREE Halal dinner boxes will be provided to all who register in advance. What is an Iftar? During Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. An Iftar is the daily breaking of the fast when the sun sets. Note: Food will not be served until sunset (7:51pm). Please plan accordingly. This is going to be a socially distanced event and masks are required. For our Muslim brothers and sisters who would like to join in the prayer, pease bring your own prayer mat.
