April 22 Earth Day in Stockton will be virtual.
Stockton and San Joaquin County will celebrate our National Earth Day virtually on Thursday, April 22, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. through a series of videos by local experts that tell short stories about environmental issues and problems that affect us both nationally and locally.
Sponsored by the Organizing Committee of Earth Day Festival Stockton, a discussion on Zoom will be presented after the video stories are reviewed by online participants. We will continue to “make our voices heard” and work on problems while staying distant from each other safely on Zoom.
Join us at www.earthdaystockton.com as we feature our video collage project and then share virtual space with local experts. A Zoom link is provided at our website for day of the Earth Day event, as well as the videos for early play and review.
Earth Day videos by local experts and their environmental focus include the following:
Margo Praus/Susan Schneider of the Climate Action Coalition-Climate Change
Deb Phillips of the Greater Valley Conservation Corp-Conservation/Recycling/Waste Reduction
Davis Harper of Community Choice Aggregation-Clean Energy/Climate Justice
Jonathan Pruitt of Catholic Charities-Environmental Justice
Kelsey Smith of University of the Pacific Sustainability-Solar Energy
Aaron Devencenzi of SJC Mosquito & Vector Control District-Pest Management
Yasmin Sabur-Eco Art
The Organizing Committee of Earth Day Festival Stockton has always focused on educating local residents on pursuing activities to improve our environment and to help our planet overcome climate change. Due to COVID health concerns, the Annual Earth Day Festival, the area’s premier environmental event, will be held in September.
