"Support is Power" has always been our steadfast operating philosophy, and we are proud to see both immediate and long-lasting changes from our support activities, across a wide spectrum of engagements. One such engagement involves a young father and the parenting case of his four-year-old son (for privacy and protection, we are unable to publish names). With the best of intentions, US family law and their courts were founded on delivering impartial, careful, and considerate judgements. Sadly, the decided results for fathers and mothers can vary quite drastically, with significant effects on the children involved. By his own massive efforts, which included selling many of his possessions and assuming a variety of jobs, our father has endured nearly $50,000 in legal expenses over a three-year period in family court. His steadfast passion, love, and sacrifices are yielding rewards. He has nearly secured a 50/50 parental custody arrangement! What a blessing for the young child! Throughout the entire, albeit lengthy, legal process, the courts have recognized him as a positive influence for his son, an honest man, and a positive contributor to society. Further, he is a tremendously loving, encouraging and supporting father, with no criminal background or destructive personal habits, who maintains regular visitation, consistent child support payments, and is a proponent of active co-parenting. Even with so much in his favor, he needs our help. Yes, there is still legal work to complete. Through this public fundraiser, we aim to help satisfy the additional projected legal expenses which will fully secure his equal parenting agreement, providing the loving relationship his son deserves and will benefit from.
