*Gentle Cockatiel Looking for Forever Home*

Description
Charlie is a very sweet bird looking for his forever home! I originally adopted him from an old co-worker about 2 years ago, and she had purchased him from an awful pet store. When I took him in he had overgrown nails, his feathers were in terrible shape, and he was on a high-fat, all seed diet. I believe he is about 3-4 years old, and I'm happy to say that he is on a healthy, high-quality pellet diet, with seeds used for an occasional treat. Please note, he has never taken any fruits or vegetables, which is bad, but he has never built a close enough bond with anyone to trust enough to do so...including me. Charlie is NOT a beginner bird, so if you're a first-time bird owner, I would recommend not adopting him. Because he had such a poor experience at the pet store, and with his previous owner, he has some trust issues and anxiety. As I said before...sadly, he has never really bonded to anyone, and for this reason I think he would do well in a household that can give him lots of love and attention, or a household with another cockatiel for company. He does hiss on occasion, but he certainly isn't a biter! Although he may not be super cuddly, he will mimic some tunes you whistle, and say some phrases (even if they aren't very clear). I am a full-time student, and I have other pets as well...I have worked with many exotic bird species and have done my best with Charlie, but have never been able to give him the time and patience he deserves. I've gotten him to a much better place than he was before, but now it's time to find a permanent loving environment! I am an avid animal lover, and I will be VERY selective of where he ends up, because he deserves someone willing to put in the time and effort! I will be sending him with a number of toys, perches, and food...as well as his large flight cage, and a smaller cage for travel. I prefer to keep him flighted, but for now his wings are clipped because it's the only way he'll interact with people...otherwise he just flies away, and sometimes into windows! At the end of the day, he is a total sweetheart who wouldn't hurt a fly, and if you're willing to put in the work and help to enrich his life, he'll eventually make for a great companion! Please contact me anytime for more information, and to confirm that you qualify for adoption. Adoption fee is $300~(which is far less than you'd need to invest for a sick bird from a pet store and all the supplies needed, this also ensures the buyer is serious about this commitment!)
