Organization Overview Founded in 2013, The Generator is a cornerstone of Reno arts culture housing an inclusive creative community. Over the last six years, The Generator has produced notable large-scale works such as The Space Whale, Bebot, The Pier, Quality of Life, Baba Yaga’s House, the Ichthyosaur, and hundreds of other sculptures. The Generator features industrial equipment and tools, an extensive network of creative minds, three-phase power, and all the room you need to build your dreams. In this collaborative space, people share collective know-how and learn from every individual. The goal of The Generator education initiative is to motivate and inspire the next generation of makers in Northern Nevada by developing and implementing K - 12 educational programming. The Opportunity Join a motivated community arts non-profit as the front desk person in a fun and busy growing maker-space. We are looking for a true people person. The main duties will include greeting the public, offering tours, onboarding new members, managing volunteers and updating our member database. The Generator Community Art Space is fueled by our members and as the front desk person you will act as the member liaison, answering questions, hosting fun member activities and guiding members through the space. Specific Responsibilities: ➢ Open and close the building during public hours ➢ Sign up new members ➢ Onboard new members through member orientation ➢ Greet the members and the public ➢ Give tours of the maker space ➢ Manage volunteers ➢ Sell programming (like workshops and kids classes) and merchandise ➢ Answer The Generator phone and member emails ➢ Assist with member social events like member potlucks and art nights ➢ Assist with occasional outreach events Salary & Working Hours The front desk administrator will be expected to work 32 hours a week. We anticipate working hours to take place between 10am - 8pm. Both weekend days will be required. Starting pay is $15/hour. Desired Experience & Skills Required Experience: Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills Highly motivated and independent individual that works well in a team Strong attention to detail Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask Values cleanliness and maintains a tidy workspace Experience managing a member/client database A minimum of 3 years in a administrative position Demonstrates technology proficiency Desired Experience (but not required): Fluent in Spanish Familiarity with Reno/Sparks art culture Arts or STEAM experience A passion for working in community Experience working in a non-profit setting Submitting Your Resume Please submit the following no later than April 21st to Kylie Judd, The Generator Director of HR. ➢ Cover letter outlining your interest in this position. ➢ Current Resume We are hiring immediately for this position.
