This is the time of the year when we see kittens everywhere. I just want to remind people it is illegal to sale or give away kittens under 8 weeks. If you come across a kitten or kittens it is very unlikely that mom abandoned them 99 % of the time she is close by watching so before you rush to try to save them leave them alone for a short time to see if she comes back for them. Taking in a litter to bottle feed is a big commitment make sure you have the time to feed every 2-3 hours and the space where they can be in a quiet stress free area. The best thing to consider is to take them to a rescue. The shelter is not always the best place because they dont always have fosters to provide round the clock care for kittens. If you dont know of a rescue or cant take them there please contact me. I can provide you with a list of rescues in your area that will take them. But if you decide you are up for the challenge of bottle feeding but need some guidance contact me and I can help. Also if you see a place where there are many feral cats and kittens contact. I dont have a solution or a place to take them because you cant adopt out feral cats. But I can help with TNR trap them get them fixed and vaccinated and released back. That will help reduce the population of community cats in your area.
