Description
I'm a 75 year-old retired Vietnam Veteran. I live alone in a nice sub division (fenced back yard) in Nampa. I have to use a cane or motorized wheel chair to get around. I lost my companion dog of 17 years about two years ago and I'm ready for another dog in my life.... I NEED another dog in my life.
I have all the accommodations.... a newly installed doggie door, beautiful dog house and lots of toys and things. But, most of all, I have a lot of love to give. I love animals, and especially dogs. I've raised several and I've got a good "touch" that dogs take to. If you're a dog person, you'll know what I'm talking about.
In my entire adult life, other than when I was in Vietnam, this is the longest I've ever went without a dog. Ideally, the perfect dog for me would be a young dog (2-3 years old... one that will hopefully outlive me).... a medium-sized dog.... lap-size.... no more than 25-30 lbs. Male preferred, but not a deal-breaker. I don't care for push-faced dogs or little, fragile "yappers." Short hair preferred, but again, no deal-breaker. House-broken is almost a must.... but.... um.... yeah.... house broken.
Obviously, a dog that's hyper and needs a lot of exercise wouldn't be a perfect fit for me. I have neighbors and I can't and won't have a barker that makes me the pariah of the neighborhood. A laid back, friendly, smart, alert dog that likes to be part of the pack would be ideal. I'm the official "grandpa of the neighborhood" and I cherish that role, so ANY dog that I have MUST be good with children. This above all is a MUST!
So.... if any of you know of a dog that needs a forever home and meets my needs, please contact me. I've got a really nice dog house that needs an occupant.
Thanks for your consideration,
Lonesome Old Timer in Nampa
