There she explored jazz and folkloric music from different regions such as south America, North America and the balkans. There she studied with greats such as Kenny Werner, Kurt Elling, Dominique Eade and Toninho Horta. Now she is getting her masters degree in contemporary improvisation at the New England Conservatory and has recorded her debut album with the acclaimed producer Javier Limón available on all digital platforms. https://www.delfinacheb.com/ ____________________________________________ The Boston-based Rasa String Quartet is quickly emerging as one of New England’s finest ensembles and consists of Irish-American violinist, Maura Shawn Scanlin, Japanese-American violinist, Kiyoshi Hayashi, Spanish-Vietnamese violist, Claudia Do Minh Ramos, and Korean-American cellist, Eunghee Cho. They received first prize in the Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition and the Music Teachers National Association Chamber Music Competition and have performed across the New England area including multiple appearances with Rockport Music, Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Society, Boston New Music Festival, Music for Food, and Brian O’Donovan’s St. Patrick’s Day “Celtic Sojourn.” Rasa String Quartet is passionate about performing innovative, accessible, and powerful programs that are inspired by a wide variety of traditions, fuse multiple genres, and incorporate different artforms. They have collaborated with such artists as Celtic harpist, Maeve Gilchrist, folk singer-songwriter, Keith Murphy, Indian kuchipudi dancer, Yamini Kalluri, and Iranian visual artists, the Safarani Sisters. In sanskrit, the term ‘rasa’ refers to the enchantingly indescribable power of any art form to evoke strong emotions in the reader or listener. Thus, our goal is to have audiences leave performances feeling moved and uplifted, with renewed inspiration to pursue their respective passions, and in contemplation of the more universal questions of life. Outside of performing together, members of the quartet share passions for music education, hiking, hanging out in coffee shops, loose leaf tea, bananagrams, and everything about dogs. https://rasastringquartet.com/
