Smudge doesn’t really like people. She loves dogs so only cat-friendly dog homes allowed. She is a hunter and has brought at least five birds and two mice into our home which is why we need to rehome her. We’ve tried all we can do, and we have a young toddler who would absolutely pick one up if she saw it before us. Smudge answers to her name and will allow pets sometimes, but other than that generally likes her space. She’ll let you know if she wants pets. She rules the roost of the neighborhood. She’s an indoor outdoor cat but would probably do fine just outside. We live on a semi-busy street so she knows to avoid cars, unless it’s ours— then we can drive at her leisure. She’s pretty spunky and fun once she warms up and once you understand her body language. We’ve had her for two years since she was a kitten. I don’t really want to rehome her but we can’t find a way to stop her bringing presents into the home. We also don’t want to keep getting upset with her over what comes naturally. She has long hair. She has a few matts we’ll take care of before she goes and she’s fixed and has been treated for pests. She’ll be due for some boosters in June. She does great with my daughter and has never once scratched or tried to bite her, but will paw at her if she gets too handsy.
