THURSDAY, APRIL 22, CONNECTING AFTER CHAOS This is a FREE informal group to support one another and remind ourselves that we are not alone. CONNECTING AFTER CHAOS The Grundy Center community has an opportunity to come together in solidarity to support one another in this challenging and scary time. Connecting After Chaos is an open group setting for any adult, (ages 18 +) who is struggling with the recent shooting death of state trooper, Jim Smith, by our community member, Michael Lang, who, as of this writing, is hospitalized. It may be hard for us to feel optimistic about the future right now. This community has lost the sense of safety and predictability that allow us to live our lives peacefully and comfortably. This group environment can help you feel not so alone in your grief and confusion. A group session is being offered at NO cost to you: Thursday, April 22, from 7-9 PM at Kling Memorial Library 708 7th St Grundy Center, Iowa. Connecting After Chaos is being offered by a former member of the Grundy Center community, Mariah Wessel-Draper (Mariah Draper). Mariah is a licensed mental health therapist in both Nebraska and Iowa. She graduated from Grundy Center high school in 1996. Mariah holds a bachelor’s degree in art and education with a minor in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling. She currently practices in Omaha, NE, as a Licensed Independent Mental Health therapist and Registered Play Therapist. *Please note, this is not an appropriate setting to discuss opinions on gun control policies.
