This event will help fund Butterfly Whisper's 2022 Programs to assist the homeless and needy of Cherokee County, Georgia. Beginning January 1, 2022, Butterfly Whisper will start a utility (Water, Electricity, & Gas) assistance program. The WEG program can be used once per family in a calendar year. Butterfly Whisper will only cover 30% of utility bill. With this program we plan to bring financial relief to those struggling to make ends meet due to a job loss or tragic event. Criteria for assistance: Bill can not be for multiple months. No previous assistance request from Butterfly Whisper within the past 12 months. Intake Form for assistance must be filled out in its entirety. Must show proof of goals to prevent future disconnections. BUTTERFLY WHISPER S&R PROGRAM Beginning January 1, 2022, Butterfly Whisper will begin a Shelter & Rental Assistance Program. This program will help those that are on the verge of being evicted from their home, and those that are homeless. The S&R Program will be ran differently for those that are homeless versus those that are on the verge of being evicted. Criteria: (Homeless) Proof of homelessness must be submitted. After E-Verification, Butterfly Whisper will put the individual into a local motel for 3 days ONLY. During the 3 days a job MUST be a priority, applications turned in, and goals of becoming a productive citizen listed. After the 3 day limit and all criteria has been met, Butterfly Whisper will then add individuals to an Extended Stay Motel for 28 days. Butterfly Whisper WILL NOT cover any room after the 28 days. Families or individuals can only use this program once in the lifetime of the program. Please note: No individual will be accepted in to the program with prior sexual related convictions. Criteria: (Non-homeless) Proof of Landlord and rent bill. Must submit Intake form. Must be willing to take a 3 session financial budgeting class. Butterfly Whisper will cover 30% of rent due, but will not exceed $750. GED PROGRAM Beginning January 1, 2022 Butterfly Whisper will sponsor 20 individuals to return to school and receive their GED. The GED program will be offered through Chattahoochee Technical College. Criteria: Must have goals that shows improvement of current situation. Must be able to pass a drug test.
