Looking for a home for a medium sized dog. He is housetrained and well behaved overall, but he was abused in the past and is freaked out by men. Milo does well with women and is loyal, but he will need a lot of work to be with a regular family. More backstory: Milo was rescued 3 years ago by some friends, but he was freaked out by their gentle grandfather (who lived with them). After 1.5 years with no progress in the dog getting to like the grandfather, our friends gave him to my family in order to see if he could settle down in a new home. He had been OK with the dad, just not the grandfather. However, Milo soon transferred his fear to me, and hasn't improved much in 1.5 years. Once in awhile we will make progress, but the improvement vanishes whenever there is an event like a child's birthday party at my house where there are new people and lots of activity. Milo would do probably best with a single female owner or a male with lots of time to work with him and experience in dealing with abused dogs.
