The production/shop laborer position is responsible for every day shop tasks to help facilitate a clean shop environment and routine project tasks. This position is part of a custom fabrication shop team and reports to the production manager. Essential Job Functions: Responsible for cleaning shop and project displays daily Cleaning of all shop equipment on a weekly basis Cleaning of designated building items on a monthly or bi-monthly basis Responsible for taking out trash from office area/shop Assist in demolition of displays for refurb projects Assist other employees in tasks when asked Assembly of display items Prep work, grinding, painting, etc. Cleaning and detailing of all displays before client acceptance Assist with packaging items for shipment and off-loading Ability to be versatile in a number of fields (carpentry, fabrication, electrical) Mechanical knowledge is a plus Required Knowledge and Skills: Reliable, dependable individual in team environment Reports to work on time Self-motivated with desire to learn Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: Stand for 8 hours or more Turn the head, neck, and shoulders to both the right and left Use the arms and legs to lift equipment and/or machinery Perform tasks that require adequate manual dexterity Talk and listen Walk Stand Reach above shoulders Stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Climb a ladder and/or steps to work at a height of approximately 13 feet above the ground Work in close/confined spaces Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing requirements of this job include ability to listen to telephone conversations as well as face-to-face conversations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud Work beyond a 40-hour workweek is required
