Assembler - Wood Tualatin, OR, USA Position Summary: Builds wood crates using blueprints (cut sheets) and power tools as a production team member to meet customer specifications for quality and on-time delivery. Responsible for logging in and out of jobs in Ops Center (Production planning system) and following production schedules. Responsible for following safety and personal protective equipment requirements and strong teamwork. Essential Functions: Wood Crate Production - Safe use of power tools such as nail guns, staple guns, power drills, grinders and hammers to build various sized wood crates. Safe ladder use required when assembling the tops (caps) of crates. - Use production software and other site-specific production line paths to tract jobs. - Bases or skids for crates may need to be assembled on the ground- requiring crouching, kneeling and require use of heavy 3.5-inch nail guns weighing up to 20 lbs. - Using adhesives to apply foam to wood crates upon crate specifications. Specification Checks - Use tape measure to ensure the measurements match the cut sheet up to 1/8th inch. - Able to read, interpret, find and report possible cut sheet and/or stenciling errors. - Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member - Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it. - Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts. - Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures. - Work together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment. Marginal Functions: - Housekeeping such as sweeping and disposing of scrap foam/lumber or other miscellaneous items. Perform other related work as assigned. Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements: - High School diploma or GED preferred. - 3 months experience in carpentry, construction or landscaping experience with power tools or motorized equipment highly desired. - Basic computer skills needed to log in and out of jobs with employee identification number. - Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) helpful. - Forklift experience desired.
