They are responsible for weeding, mowing, seed collection, seed cleaning and other work at the nursery that advances conservation efforts within the Metro region.Duration: June-November, 1040 hours max; five days per week, eight hour days. Variable Hour position (formerly known as "temporary") Schedule: 8:00AM – 4:30PM, Monday-Friday. Reporting Location: Borland, Native Plant Center - Tualatin, ORDuties: Care for native plant beds at nursery: weed abatement, mulching, watering, pest managementHarvest and clean farmed and wild collected seedOperate and maintain electric and gas powered tools: seed winnower, drill, string trimmer, thresher, air compressor, otherAbility to lift 50 lbsExperience and Education: Sufficient experience or training in basic grounds and building maintenanceCurrent driver’s license and driving record sufficient to be insured by Metro insurance carrierAny combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities.Preferences: Knowledge of basic plant anatomyAbility to safely operate gas and electric powered toolsHand-eye coordinationSeed collector, farmer, gardener, landscaperTo apply:Visit our web site at: for the complete job announcement and a link to our online hiring center.
