All the info is included that relates to this camper. plz text me------ 2003 Jayco Qwest 10’ pop-up Camper. Used camper in fair condition. Could be taken camping today. We bought it to fix up and try out camper camping. We fixed up lots of stuff and there is (of course) still room for more improvement. We are selling because we are ready to move on to something even better. This camper has plenty of room for 3-4 normal sized people to be stuck inside during an all-day thunderstorm. This post is long because we want an informed buyer to know what they are getting. We want everybody to feel good about this sale. I would be happy to talk on the phone (or Zoom) to serious buyers. I can show you how to set-up and take down. I am willing to show you in person all the flaws the camper has. The Good News: - tires, wheels, brakes, spare tire, bearings all recently replaced and less than 2 years old. Only a few hundred miles. - fresh battery in good shape - less than two years old. - the A/C works. I have only used it during summer thunderstorms when it was hot and wet. It performed wonderfully and we were very comfortable. - refrigerator, inside sink, outside stove all work fine. I disconnected the inside stove. Will reconnect if you like, but honestly cooking inside the camper is not worth it. - hinge for the step was replaced - interior lights upgraded to LED - comes with easily lost/broken spare parts like cane tips, water heater locks, bunk end stops, spare washers, etc. - replaced damaged leveling jack, and because they were a good deal in a 2-pack have a spare to include. - replaced the awning poles with something nicer. - includes a grey water collection tank and a variety of sewer fittings. - the hot water heater works, and in my opinion is not worth the trouble. We made a kettle of hot water to wash dishes and used the bathhouse for showers at the campground. - Somebody put a closet pole (like coat hangers go on) across the ceiling. It is pretty great to be able to hang stuff up, like jackets or beach towels. - It smells like the inside of a clean tent when you first open it - a little plastic-y - this fades quickly it is not moldy or gross. Opportunities for Improvement: - The cabinet under the sink could use a little simple carpentry to shore it up. It - We have never used the freshwater holding tank for camping because it leaks. I do have a proper replacement and all the fittings on hand but I never put it on because so many campgrounds have water. - While the electrical inlet/cord is fine, I bought the materials to upgrade to the kind you plug into the side of the camper rather than the 'pull out of a hole' kind. Never got around to replacing. Will include. - This camper originally had an ABS top. This was a poor manufacturing choice as it cracks. The roof has been properly reinforced with a discreet beam inside and the ABS removed and replaced with a brush-on truck bed liner 'Grizzly Grip' as is the most recommended repair. - I have removed the awning channel to replace. I will plan to re-attach it before sale. - This camper originally had a zip-on screen room. I do not have this. - The canvas has a few small holes which have been carefully repaired with appropriate, purpose made adhesive patches. - I replaced the gasket that seals the lid. It works fine AND I made it look ugly when I worked on the roof. If I were going to keep it for a few years I would buy a new length of gasket and replace it - it is not hard. - The table is wobbly because it is the original table and a mediocre design. We made it work. - The original curtains are removed. You could easily add some. It isn't hard to get by without them. - Does not have a furnace. We used a SMALL space heater. - The awning has a neat repair in the vinyl. I never noticed it while it was up. - Some tragedy happened to the door before we owned it. It has a couple scratches. Someone put a hasp on the door. to supplement the lock. This looks a little ugly but works fine. ALSO no one can tell WHILE YOU ARE CAMPING only when it sits unused in your garage. If my best friend was buying this camper, I would recommend: - Paint the cabinets light gray or some other inoffensive color in easy-to-clean paint. - Don’t bother replacing the flooring. It looks like the 90's, but you won't notice. - Making simple slipcovers (even pinning fabric on with safety pins) would probably help you enjoy it more. - We never did put curtains on. It is not, in practice, often a problem. - We bought a plastic chest of drawers 24 inches tall which fits in the folded camper and sits up on the cabinets when in use. This was pretty great. - We never went ‘boondocking’ without electricity or water. Going without sewer hookups is not so bad. - We carried a bucket with a toilet seat ( lined with a kitchen trash bag, and cat litter) to use at night. Pretty great when it is raining at 2 am. - Taking a few small plug-in fans with you is pretty much the greatest thing. - While the refrigerator works you will probably want to supplement with a cooler. - The hot water heater and the external shower sounds cool, but is not worth the trouble. Carry a short garden hose and a spray nozzle to get mud off of sneakers or whatever. Take a shower in the bathhouse. Extra Services: - I could deliver this a short distance, anything over about 10 miles would cost extra. - I could do the unfinished repairs mentioned above, but we would have to agree on the cost. - I will be happy to set up the camper so you can come see in person.
