**MUST BE OPEN TO WORK 1ST AND 2ND SHIFT** Responsible for all aspects of managing the Production Department, with a daily focus on: Production processes with an emphasis on QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery), Daily supervision of all direct and indirect personnel in the production processes, Development and building of effective production work teams, Managing and reporting of Attendance / Direct Labor Utilization / Cost Variances on a daily processing level, compliance with all Corporate safety and Quality assurance guidelines, help with development, implementation and evaluation of departmental goals and objectives associated with direct reports and work teams. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Direct, execute daily and seasonal production workflow with emphasis on efficiency of work order planning at the line levels. Work closely with the Director of Production on development, implementation and analysis of labor standards and time studies of all production processes. Drive direct reports systematically to complete by year end on all products. Lead, participate, analyze with direct reports Line Balancing processes – based on established standards with the correct number of personnel to run a production line by product type. Ensure that direct reports are managing personnel excesses timely and report daily to Director of Production through spreadsheet processes any variances or loan out of personnel to various organizations. Diagnose any potential areas within Production departments needing improvement and identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity. This includes recommending any supplies needed for seasonal start-up and ongoing business after the start up process. Coordinate / monitor necessary interaction between maintenance departments and production on machine level maintenance and improvements as necessary. Lead planning and execution of staffing decisions for the Production processes daily for maximum efficiency of each shift requirements for production runs based on Line balancing decisions. Overall monitoring and recommendations for approval to upper management of production staffing levels based on seasonal needs and the organizational charts for seasonal start up and keeping personnel levels prescribed levels as season progresses. Responsible: Review of reports, including Daily Production, Daily Labor Analysis, including but not limited to any others as determined by management, and for the completion and accuracy of all other reports required from production: Supervisors, Line Leads, Production Control personnel, Office Administration personnel which may include multiple reports as the Hourly status, Re-wrap report, Line balancing / Staffing guidelines, Budget compliance by SKU / Line / Shift (roll-ups included), Assembly Instructions (work order packages), Production reports, Daily Attendance / Roll Call reports vs. Daily Labor Analysis personnel totals and report those numbers daily to upper management Review weekly Punch / Payroll report for accuracy and perfection with sign off in agreement to hours and personnel reporting for those time-frames. Knowledge of: Production Products, Solid knowledge of how manufacturing, customer service and physical distribution processes and functions interrelate, analytical and problem solving skills. All Products by size, weight, color, brand, and design. Advanced Microsoft office products knowledge such as: Word, Excel, and Outlook JIT, Kazan, Lean Manufacturing techniques, Time Management (routing, time studies, etc) related to engineering and manufacturing processes. Bar code processes Experience: Proven history in Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Production Processes with emphasis on engineering processes. Typical Physical Demands: Office and administrative workload combined in a warehouse and production environment, with some walking, standing, pulling, pushing and lifting. Fast paced, temperature variations in a warehouse environment, above average amount of walking, light lifting and working under time deadlines. Typical Working Conditions: Fast paced office and manufacturing warehouse environment. Education: BA or BA degree preferred with emphasis in business or engineering. Experience: Proven history in Manufacturing, Warehousing, Production Processes with emphasis on engineering processes.
