Description
We are a small shop working on dynamic and changing projects. If you like having something new to do every few days, you'll fit right in. We build furniture, stairs, and a number of other metal projects. If you do not have experience in a metal shop, that is fine, any construction background translates well to what we're doing (best employee was previously a trained framer and roofer), will train the right person. If you're too good to post up on a grinder for a few hours, this won't be for you. I appreciate variety in work, but when it's paying the bills, it gets done. Hours are flexible and perfect for someone in school, part time parent, etc. 3 days a week to start, possibility of 3-10's if you're motivated to get 10 real hours in. Willing to work with individuals in trade school to do an afternoon schedule or the like. 90 day probationary test period, after which paid sick and vacation time, profit share, pay bump, and opportunities for 1099 extra work. Winter Holiday season is a rush for us and you'll have the option to put in as many hours as you'd like as well as enjoy the benefits of the profit share. Spanish fluency is a bonus, but not required. What is required is 100% no smoking on site, on installs, etc. We work with some high end clients and we won't be showing up dirty or smelling of anything. You can vape all you want, dip if you aren't spitting, but no smoking, no smoke odors. Disqualifiers: lying and false info. I do not care what your background is, but trying to hide it will destroy the trust needed in the trades. Drugs: I do not care if you want to smoke a joint after work, what you do on your time is your business. Showing up high or drunk is an instant termination. No Calls: shit happens, get in front of it and it won't be an issue, ruin a planned day by not showing up and it will be. Pros: - $10/hr to start (options for higher starting for proficient welders), with 1099 work available often if you want to earn some more on the side. Reevaluation after 90 days with expected raise based on performance. - Paid Weekly - Options for your own projects, I won't stop someone else bettering themself. - Paid sick/personal time after 90 days. - Flexible Schedule. - Personal preferred PPE allowance. - No tools/equipment required, all provided. Requirements: - not above some hard work as you learn the process here. - can stand for hours and lift 50+ lbs. - steel toe boots and appropriate work wear, show up to interview as if it were your first day. Shop uniform is khaki or brown pants and provided black shirts. - Okay with appearing in company social media. - Smart Phone. - Ability to work independently, and to know when to ask questions. - Reliable Transportation, you need to have a vehicle, not be getting a ride. - Basic awareness of shop safety, you will be trained as needed per tool/process. - Clean Cut. No large tattoos that cannot be covered for client installs, no piercings that present chances of injury. Provide: - Brief bio and explainer of your skills and experience. Metal fabrication experience not required. If you can weld, what process, how well, etc. - Explanation of past experience reading plans, fabricating on the fly, doing fit-ups, etc. - Explanation of any Criminal History that may be of note. I believe is second chances, I do not believe in trusting liars. - Availability Monday - Saturday (Saturday not required, but optional). - Desired pay after 90 day probationary period. - Any training, certifications, etc. - Any bilingual language skills. - Any other relevant information you'd want to know in my shoes.
