Last year, with so many people sheltering in place and looking out for their safety, many people tapped into their creativity, and others were emotionally profoundly impacted. May is Mental Health Month, and we are here to change your "Mindset" with "A Mile In My Shoes." Join us at Noon on May 1st as we spark the momentum for creativity for all — while we begin to return to our new normal.
KonsiderDis, Taste of Pleasure, and Washington Parks and People would like to offer a unique perspective to Mental with interactive demos for community members to add to their "life tool kit."
On the day of the event, participants, mental health advocates, and community partners will step up our strength and energy even further with a walk from Lady Bird Park (4301 Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave NE) to Marvin Gaye Park (5200 Foote St NE). There are many ways to deal with stress — and our interactive demo(s) after the walk will give you a couple of options to add to your regimen. Together, we can break the negative stigma on Mental Health in underserved communities.
A Healthy Mindset for All — and Always. We were encouraged in 2020 to discover our triggers and embrace our remarkable resilience. Whatever reality that was introduced to you 2020, "A Mile In My Shoes" will introduce activities that will make them more capable: Journaling, Exercise, Life Coaching, and more to announce! Bring your mask, hand sanitizer, and an open mind!
