HUEY is a 2 year old pit bull mix who may have some lab in him. He weighs 50 pounds. Huey came to NYC from rural Georgia, where he spent most of his life as a yard dog whose saving grace was getting loose one day and running around the neighborhood until he was picked up and brought to a shelter by police. Due to Covid, the shelter Huey was in was closed to adopters so Beastly Rescue brought him up to NYC to give him a chance. Huey spent a long time at this southern shelter where he was handled exclusively by women. As a result, Huey is much more comfortable with women then men, in fact he is pretty terrified of men. He is not aggressive, he just shuts down around men. For this reason, we are seeking a female-only home for Huey. One in which is not highly trafficked. Huey is a mellow dog who does not require much other than gaining your full trust. Huey's coat is similar to that of a yellow lab, not super typical of a pit but he definitely does have pittie in him. He has the most gorgeous green eyes and he is just super, super sweet. Because Huey is a timid dog, he has had a tough time getting the hang of using the concrete sidewalks of NYC as his bathroom.
