Meet Tessie! Age: 3 years. Breed: German Shepherd mix. Size: 40lbs. Training: crate & leash trained, doing great with house training. Good with dogs/cats? Dogs, yes. Cats, unknown but can be cat tested if a potential adopter has cats. Good with men/women/kids? Yes, she adores her foster kids :). Personality: Tessie is the sweetest girl & everything you look for in a pet! She loves EVERYONE she meets, people and animals alike. She is very affectionate and loyal. She is a good energy, not hyper but playful! She loves toys. We were told by a neighbor that she used to chase the acorns when they fell from the trees :(. Reason for rescue: Owner release, can no longer care for. Poor Tessie has spent most of her life on a chain. Tessie is spayed, microchipped & up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Tessie is heartworm positive. She will be sent home with a year supply of heartworm preventative along with medication. Based on our vets recommendation, she is being treated with a method called the slow kill treatment. She takes a monthly Ivermectin based heartworm preventative until a negative test, usually within a year. Please feel free to research and talk this over with your vet. Tessie came to us with hair loss, that has greatly improved with the use of Bravecto (a 3-month flea pill).
