Typography is a key foundation of any design, and it’s also very hard to get right. Designers and brands of all kinds heavily rely on selecting fonts and typefaces for every single project or system they work on. Understanding what makes a good typeface, and enhancing your overall knowledge of typography can have a huge impact on how effective your future work can be. You will learn what elements make up a brand and what you should keep in mind as you promote yourself and your creative business. Please bring any materials that you now use for branding(including digital if you can) and your laptop or ipad so we can share with the class and talk about what is working for your business and what may need some work. You will leave with a better understanding of your brand identity and messaging and will leave with a list of what you need to create in order to maximize your promotional materials. Class sizes are limited to ensure safe distance can be kept in the studio at all times. Masks are required to be worn at all times to cover your nose and mouth. Level: Beginner to Intermediate About Amanda Boulton: Amanda has over 10 years working in field of marketing and branding design in NYC. She has worked with clients such as Expedia Inc, Nickelodeon, UBS, and many more. She now works as a free-lance branding and marketing designer for numerous clients and has been teaching at Berkley College for the last few semesters. She also has an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. In Amanda's experience bringing brands into life and keeping them on track, she had broadened their audience and kept them relevant. Amanda is also an artist herself!
