A fun, family-friendly day in the park to celebrate foster parents and families. Enjoy fun activities, live music, and giveaways. All FREE! Come out to the Pilgrim Labyrinth & Butterfly Garden for our first annual foster parent appreciation event! Registration is not required, but the first 50 people to register will receive a ticket for one scoop of delicious, housemade ice cream from our generous sponsor, Betty Rae's ice cream, redeemable at the event only. We're kicking off a year-long partnership with our neighboring organization and long-time sponsor of the Pilgrim Run 5K, Cornerstones of Care, to bring awareness to issues in foster care. So many children in our communities grow up in foster care. Let's support them and help to meet their needs, as a community! Join us Saturday, May 1, to celebrate Foster Parent Appreciation Month and the "A-Mazing" foster parents in our community. Starting at 1:00 p.m., we'll have guided meditative walks through our Labyrinth, family entertainment, and free plants and seeds. at 2:00 p.m. enjoy live music by Amado Espinoza and the Junkyard Orchestra (featuring Andres Ramirez). This concert that will take you around the globe using instruments Amado made from found objects and recycled materials. You will be surprised, delighted, and inspired to make your own musical treasures out of trash and make music for our Mother Earth! Feel free to bring your own homemade shakers to join in the fun! And between now and then, we are collecting much-needed items for foster care families.
