Explore Richfield Heritage Preserve with plant ecologist, Jenifer Windus
Jennifer Windus is the current President of the Ohio Invasive Plants Council, a non-profit organization formed in 2005 which represents a diverse array of stakeholders. Jennifer retired in 2014 after 31 years at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, working in 3 different Divisions (Parks & Recreation, Natural Areas & Preserves, and Wildlife). Most of her career involved coordination of land management on nature preserves and wildlife areas, which included invasive plant control. She also serves on the boards for the Ohio Natural Areas & Preserves Association, Crane Hollow, Inc., and the Ohio Prescribed Fire Council. Jennifer has a B.S. in Forest Biology and a M.S. in Environmental Biology.
We are privilaged to have Jenifer host this hike along the scenic Ohio Buckeye Trail at Richfield Heritage Preserve. She will help us identify wildflowers and invasive species as we hike.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. This will be a 2 mile hike. There will be no rain date for this event. Space is limited and mask-wearing is mandatory.
