Tour of the recent expansion at Frederik Meijer Gardens. “Welcoming the World: Honoring a Legacy of Love” is a $115 Million, 90,000 square-feet expansion started in the Fall of 2017. The scope of the project includes a picnic pavilion, a rooftop garden, a new learning center, major enhancement feature for the amphitheater, expanded parking and a bigger Welcome Center to fully accommodate the attraction’s growing number of visitors. The project is expected to be completed by early 2023. The project is designed by the same New York architect firm for the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. We’ll see the new structures and also get an up close and personal view of the various construction activities. Since the tour will be after hours, no construction activities is expected to be in progress. But just in case, please bring your hard hat, high vis, safety glasses and work shoes. Limited Tickets are available and all proceeds will be donated to the gardens. ***Please meet at the FMG Welcome Center.
