Description
I thought you might find it curious to know
I moved closer to the eastern seaboard
But not to you
Over the Rockie's slope
I used to call home
Traveled over highway 76
To the toll highway 80
And as I drove
I thought about the things we do to cope
To survive; to in essence extend the rope
You know, the one we use to feign some semblance of hope
The very same one we hang ourselves with sometimes too
3 days on the 🛣️ with clear skies
Time was on my side and thought of you
Why we connect with others and
Then suddenly, like weather the skies grow cold
Heavy with the weight of snow
And you wonder, if she is okay
What could one do to let her know
You understand, and understood
Even if you didn't want to
Because
We all do what we feel we must do
Still
When I got here in Ohio
4 hours from New York Maybe more from you
I hope from time to time you think of me too
Before the gloom and the emergence of the cicadas bloom
