to fill two positions; DRUMMER and CO-VOCALIST or GUITARIST / BACKING VOCALIST GUITARIST w/ strong backing vocals; Well rounded rhythm and/or lead guitarist. Musical arrangements are relatively easy, mostly 3 chord progressions, nuthin' fancy! Rhythm & meter varies quite a bit from song to song (search You Tube channel; "Holding Grudges band" or see link at end for examples.) Strong backing vocals mandatory in this slot (see co-vocalist description below) Although I won't be as demanding of guitarist on backing vocals as I would w/ stand alone co-vocalist position, backing vocals need to be tight! OR... Co-Vocalist; Shared vocal duties w/ guitarist. Lyrics throughout all material are traded off consistently, layered & occasionally harmonized. Timing of lyrics is CRITICAL during trade-off's. Ability to memorize lyrics word for word is CRITICAL... Pronunciation of difficult words is CRITICAL... Must be able TO TAKE DIRECTION, HAVE STAGE PRESENCE & ABILITY TO WORK AN AUDIENCE! Sounds a lil' demanding but we're actually pretty easy going... issue's w/ previous co-vocalist are the reason for this statement. AND... Drummer; Hard hitting mofo who can keep a beat & has dynamics, needs to have creative input for developing new & already established material and ability to take direction / expand upon it. If you can't handle your alcohol or drugs, don't bother applying... we ain't Saint's here but done dealing w/ substance use that interferes w/ the music, period! holdinggrudges.com
