Description
We are seeking a volunteer Administrative Assistant who is available about 10 hours a week, Mon/Wed/Fri to handle the daily office needs. This is a COVID-19 friendly position, since 100% of the duties are performed remotely.
Sacramento Braille Transcribers, Inc. is a non-profit organization, which is passionate about producing high quality, affordable braille. Sacramento Braille Transcribers, Inc. (SBT) transcribes and produces a wide variety of projects into braille, from textbooks to menus, from newsletters to picture books for the blind.
Qualifications:
● High School diploma
● Administrative Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
● Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
● Exceptional ability to organize paperwork and files
● Comfortable using Google products (such as Google Drive, Calendar, and GoogleMail)
● Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and follow through with minimal direction
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of braille is not required, but we would love for you to have an interest in learning about the braille industry.
Administrative Assistant’s Job Responsibilities
Virtual Tasks:
● Reply promptly to electronic mail and voicemails and forward messages to pertinent individuals.
● Schedule appointments and meetings.
● Organize and maintain SBT’s Google Drive and Google Calendar.
● Type reports, memos, letters and other documents.
● Perform administrative duties as needed including filing, copying, sorting, mailing, etc..
● Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers.
● Update and maintain office policies and procedures.
● Maintain a contact list of vendors and customers.
● Help screen and onboard volunteers.
● Provide Board of Directors support and meeting preparations.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
