Garden Center associates are the backbone of the greenhouse. Initiate outstanding sales and service, maintains exceptional greenhouse appearance and cleanliness. Assists all customers with carry-outs, and load-outs. Creates and supports a creative teamwork environment. Key Areas of Responsibility: • Meet and greet each and every customer within 3 minutes • Consistent quality customer service ensuring a successful shopping experience • Merchandising, freight stocking, and plant care • Upkeep and organization of department - including recovery • Product knowledge, load-outs are critical to the success of this position • Self - training assessments and evaluations • Creates and maintains a safe environment for customers and employees • Provide customers with the necessary information regarding location of various merchandise inside and surrounding the Garden Center • Product knowledge is imperative. Must use product knowledge and good communication skills to assist customers in making decisions • Upkeep and organize department - including watering, organizing bedding plant flats, sweeping lot and inside Garden Center • Other duties, as needed Skill Set Requirements: • Strong communication (written, oral and interpersonal skills) • Strong organizational skills • Positive attitude and willingness to learn • Excel in a fast-paced, evolving work environment • Familiar with standard concepts and practices within the retail environment • Familiarity with annual, perennials, trees, shrubs, and basic gardening/landscaping • Be adaptable to working in a wet/dirty environment for extended periods of time • Dependability, honesty and commitment Physical Demands: • Standing for long periods of time • Heavy and repetitive lifting (no more than 50 lbs) • Bending, carrying, and pushing • Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard • Close vision for PC work • Exposure to extreme variation in temperatures Consider Us!
