Description
Here's me: 40-something. Marketing professional by day. Living in the west metro. Don't consider myself a perfectionist music-tech type of guitarist. But definitely can hold my own out there. Been playing lead guitar since I was a kid. Electric and acoustic. High school bands. Wrote a bunch of originals with a group. Got a small record deal. Traveled the 5 state areas playing around after high school. Got older, married, kids, career. Still kept a band going on the side through the years but shifted to covers and playing less often.Decent backing vocals. Even had to be a (mediocre) lead vocalist in one of the bands. Performing mainly covers in the end in sports bars and such. Practicing once or twice a month or so, performing once a month or so. Nothing too serious. Never expected to be big rockstars. Purely a fun (semi-serious) side hobby to enjoy playing music. Looking to do basically the same. Age doesn't really matter, except to be in line in life with the same musical interest. Male, female, dad's, mom's- whoever! Looking for drums, bass, vocals, possibly keys or another vocalist/guitarist. Music:Covers were pretty mainstream 90's alternative rock music. Had a female singer for quite a while in one of the bands singing alt rock. Nirvana. Foo Fighters. Third Eye Blind. Lit. Weezer. Jane's Addiction. Semisonic. Everclear. Gin Blossoms. Goo Goo Dolls. Alanis. Dave Matthews. Dada. Better than Ezra. Throwing in some eclectic rock versions of some bar dancing songs:Discovery Channel. Bust a move. Bowling for Soup. Some old Beatles. Hendrix. And some other stuff like Coldplay, U2, Onerepublic, Neon Trees, Train, Walk the moon, Awolnation. O.A.R. Open to just about anything except NOT looking to be a Skynyrd classic rock band, or anything country. Looking to mainly do hit covers, and some cover shows eventually, but definitely open to originals as well. Some of the most fun I've had over the years was just getting together for practice, a few beers, and music comradery with like-minded musicians. I've probably written about 30 original songs over the years. Nothing too proud of, but stuff that could be chopped up, revamped, or whatever. Anyway, I've been sitting on my butt for way too long now not playing. I need to rock out some music again in my life. Kids are older and looking to start a serious music hobby again. Moving to a new house shortly so might have some extra space to practice in. Open to options. As it takes a while to get these projects going and learn a bunch of songs before we’d really start getting together- hopefully the world with Covid will have simmered down a bit. Let me know if there's interest.
