Pet Care Supervisor/Coordinator Holiday Barn Pet Resorts - Midlothian and Glen Allen What do we do at Holiday Barn Pet Resorts? We get the opportunity, every day, to care for, play with, and be an integral part of the lives of thousands of Richmond's pets and their families. Our business provides safe, happy lodging for vacationing pets while they need to be away from their families. We also offer fun, energized playgroups for dogs to enjoy through our Doggie Day Care. Our Pet Grooming department is "paw-excellance" as we provide pets nice sudsy baths, pedicures, stylish haircuts and anti-shedding treatments. Dogs who need some new manners or are looking to get a higher education can receive the professional training services of our dog trainers. Equally important, all Pack members at Holiday Barn work together for a common set of company values and mission of "Creating Joy in the lives of pets and their families". Some Responsibilities • Help train and supervise staff • This is a hands-on position and you will be required to perform the same tasks as staff as needed, including but not limited to cleaning, feeding, administering medications, play times. • Assist Pet Care Manager and/or Facility Manager with developing and/or implementing ideas to improve resort operations. • Coordinate staff needs with the pet care department and among other teams • Provide support to other teams, such as grooming, customer experience or day care as needed • Staff evaluations. • Handle customer issues and opportunities in professional manner. • Open and/or close the facility as required by the facility manager. Requirements • Vet tech degree/certification from an accredited school • 2 years work experience in the pet care industry • 2 years supervisory experience working with a large staff. • Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding position. This workplace is typified as moderately physically demands, walking, dogs barking, lifting of pets up to 30 lbs, working with cleaning chemicals, pet related allergens • Strong communication and leadership skills • Flexibility: Must be able to work on ALL major holidays and be available to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends. This is a full time position. Full time employees may be eligible for company sponsored medical, dental and vision insurance, company paid life and long term disability insurance and paid time off. Pay for this position starts at $13.00 an hour.
