Finnley came in August 2019 from the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter, where he was brought directly from the animal hospital for a hurt paw (possibly from heartbreaking abuse.) He is a very smart dog with a sweet, affectionate temperament. He plays at the dog park often, gets along with every dog, and rarely (if ever) barks at other dogs. Finnley is crate-trained and housebroken. He knows simple commands, sit, stay & paw. Active dog with hunting dog lineage. He likes to sniff and track small animals like squirrels and cats. When I first got Finnley, he pulled hard on the leash, but he has since been trained to walk alongside the human walker with the command "heel." Finnley can become scared of men and engage in resource guarding at times, which is why he needs an owner with some experience in training to help him overcome these fears, as well as an "alpha" presence.
