FORKLIFT MECHANIC – CONTRACT POSITION Are you fascinated by heavy equipment and mechanical systems? Are you motivated to work on machines that move the world? Hyster-Yale designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks under the Hyster and Yale brand names. We are a global organization and are seeking a mechanic in our Fairview, Oregon facility that is responsible for designing and testing many of our products. Hyster-Yale is looking for an energetic individual who is well suited to work in a dynamic team environment where they would be required to work effectively with individuals with a broad range of responsibilities and who will have a positive influence on the organization and the success of our future products. Key Responsibilities • Provide support services to project teams in the form of welding, fabrication, and test fixture assembly, adjustment, maintenance. • Assist with design and build of test fixtures • Maintain, update, and troubleshoot existing test fixtures and facility equipment • Prepare and modify lift trucks and components to execute test plans • Maintain fleet of lift trucks in various stages of development • Perform general maintenance on vehicles and facility as directed • Maintain service and test records Qualifications: • Experience with automotive and/or industrial mobile equipment • Welding, Fabrication, and Painting experience • General understanding of engineering drawings • Highly motivated with self-direction with limited supervision • Ability to operate lift trucks • Ability to troubleshoot vehicles • Extremely detail oriented • Use and ownership of general mechanic type hand tools • Must possess a current driver’s license • Must be physically fit, able to lift 50lbs, and able to withstand the local weather conditions • Able to use the internet and a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Outlook Preferred: • Familiar with mobile hydraulics and electronics • Hands-on demonstrated abilities in fabrication, machining, welding, general mechanical and electrical repair including troubleshooting issues of vehicles. • Basic understanding of DC/AC electrical circuits. • 2-5 years experience working on mobile equipment, trucks, or automobiles • Coursework towards or completion of formal mechanic training is a plus APPLY: Note: The title on this particular posting on our website is “Test Technician” which requires a two year degree but we will also consider hiring mechanics which do NOT require a two year degree for the position described here.
