Description
Hello, I rescued, like literally rescued, a very sweet older small dog who looks to be a mix of Cairn Terrier and Chihuahua, or something similar. I am going to be very picky because I know how sketchy CL can be regarding homing pets, especially small dogs and pitbulls. I've named him One Eyed Willy because one eye is half the size of the other one, however, I found out his name might be Marley. He answers to both. I would be keeping this little guy if my home were better suited for him. Here's what I know and have done. He was rescued from the backyard of an elderly man's home in AZ who ended up in the hospital with dementia related issues, and he will not be returning home. I took the dog to a vet in Phoenix and got him UTD on vaccinations, had him tested for various conditions-all negative, and had him given a medical bath/treated for fleas/ticks. He appears to be about 8-10 yrs old and in good health. 10-11 lbs. Housebroken. Loves fetching his little toys short distances and walking around the neighborhood. He is NOT OKAY WITH LARGE DOGS. This is a deal breaker! And this is why I cannot keep him. I have 3 other dogs, one being a lab/pit mix and it's not a good match. I have two other smaller dogs and he's fine with them, but the high energy one gets on his nerves at times. He's ignored all the cats I've seen him be around. What still needs to be done: He is not neutered, so I will be taking a deposit, FULLY REFUNDABLE upon proving he's been fixed. I had him for 3 weeks at my aunt's house in AZ and he was literally a perfect dog, which is why I brought him home. He and I have, unfortunately, bonded and I am very sad it didn't work out. Because of my affection for him, I will be ensuring to the best of my ability that he's going to the best home possible. Here's what I think would be perfect for him. A single owner, or couple, looking for a loving, loyal, lower energy dog who wants to be bonded with their owner. He can at times be protective, but this might be because of all the dogs/others around my house. He was not at all protective in AZ. Poor guy's been through quite a bit recently and he deserves a loving and responsible home environment to live out the rest of his days. Please let me know if Willy/Marley seems like a possible fit for you!
