I need to rehome my amazing dog, Juanita. Juanita is a female cattle dog/terrier mix and she was adopted from PACC in 2018. She is an absolutely wonderful dog. Her personality is huge and she has a lot of energy and spunk. She is roughly five years old at this point and would do well with a person/family that can give her lots of exercise and playtime, as well as continue her training. She is very smart and treat motivated -- a little fearful at first of people she doesn't know, but give her a few treats and she'll be your buddy. Given her mix of breeds (cattle dog/heeler and terrier) she has a strong prey drive, so she shouldn't live in a home with cats or other smaller animals. She has lived with other dogs and did very well when living with an older, calmer dog roughly her same size (around 50-60 lbs.) Being around too many dogs at once (such as in doggy daycare) has proven stressful for her, but she has done well at dog parks with a smaller group of 4-5 other dogs.
I am looking for a new home for her because I am dealing with some significant health issues and my spouse is afraid of dogs. (He has tried his best with her over the past year-plus but his fear persists, unfortunately -- he has had some traumatic experiences with other dogs.)
I would need a vet reference and would ask for a modest rehoming fee which would be donated to PACC or another rescue group. Please message me if interested in learning more about her.
