General Laborer Needed for Full Time Employment

Job Summary We are currently seeking hard working and dependable candidates to join our company as a General Laborer for our First shift 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday (plus Overtime as required). This is a fast paced position with the main purpose being to support management in the identification, sorting and recycling of scrap material received in. This job is very physical and will build some serious muscles! Included but not limited to, the candidate will pull material from cardboard cartons while working on the conveyor and remove any unwanted items or contaminants, load and unload cable into a press, bale material, transfer wire, cable or other items into containers, cut material using hand tools or hydraulic tools into smaller pieces to be baled or chopped as well as other general labor duties such as sweeping and cleaning. This position is indoors/outdoors as work is done inside of manufacturing plant or outside in our yard. Other job duties such as snow shoveling or general yard clean up are required when needed. Again, this is a very physical and fast paced position. ***This position will be filled internally and is NOT open to Staffing Agencies or Recruiters*** Responsibilities and Duties Identifying, sorting and separating different types of wire and cable Pulling cable or wire into press and transferring finished product (50-65 lbs a piece) onto pallet Baling material such as wire, cable, sheet metal by hand out of cardboard containers while removing any contaminants or unwanted metals into separate containers Working on feeder conveyor, pulling material onto conveyor while also identifying and removing undesirable material or debris Transporting or loading material using sit down propane forklift or Bobcat (After Training) Cutting and sorting material using hydraulic cutter, shear or hand held cable cutter Use stripper to expose material and sort into containers or trays according to type by hand Lifting and moving items in excess of 50 lbs as needed General use of basic hand tools (screwdriver, hammer, etc.) as needed Possible use of pneumatic tools as needed General cleaning and sweeping using hand broom and shovels as required Qualifications and Skills Previous general labor experience a plus, but not required Must be responsible, dependable and safety oriented Positive "go-getter" attitude and demeanor Goal oriented and team player mentality Forklift or other type of machinery certification a plus, but not required Must be able to work in fast paced work environment either in a team or solo if needed Must be able to lift 50 lbs+ consistently Must be able to stand on feet 8+ hours per day General knowledge and usage of hand tools a plus Available for overtime if needed General willingness and desire to learn and grow with company Excellent track record of attendance Must provide two professional recommendations Must provide a resume Benefits Paid vacation after one year of employment and 1500 hours worked 12 Paid Holidays Union Membership Excellent Medical, Dental and Vision benefits (after 120 days, 30 probation and 90 day wait period) Pension through Union Ability to gain raises based on work performance and attendance upon management discretion ****If Interested, please apply and someone will reach out to you to set up an interview.****
